ABOUT
Aavistus is a new biannual festival of audiovisual art and VJ culture. It is currently the only festival in Finland focusing especially on VJ culture. The festival presents art forms, such as audiovisual and VJ performances, projection mapping and an exhibition of audiovisual installations.
The three-day event on 2.–4.10.2020 saw performances or artworks by 64 artists during 6 events in 4 locations. The festival had 1145 visitors altogether, as well as 1500 stream viewers. The festival was featured on Finland's main news outlets, such as YLE Evening News, YLE website & Helsingin Sanomat culture news. The festival received grants from The Promotion Centre for Audiovisual Culture AVEK and City of Helsinki.

Aavistus Festival is an independent non-profit festival organised by local VJs, artists, event professionals, designers and media art lovers. The core team in 2020 consisted of Merle Karp, Hannu Häkkinen, Suvi Parrilla and Anni Tolvanen.
